Worth knowing about Bergkirchen


Bergkirchen is not a political municipality, but a district of the communities Wulferdingsen, Volmerdingsen and Rothenuffeln. However, the congregation and the post district bear the name "Bergkirchen". The church on the mountain has given the village its name. It belongs next to the cathedral of Minden to the oldest churches in the area. Its origins go back to the time of Charlemagne and probably dates back to 810. In any case, several historians report that it is mentioned in documents from the 9th century.
